HEJDA TO EDMONTON
The Edmonton Oilers acquired defenseman Jan Hejda from the Buffalo Sabres for a seventh-round draft pick in 2007.
What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers are in a little trouble along the blueline, so they need bodies. They'll now attempt to sign Hejda, who would provide a little depth. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
Hejda never came over to play in Buffalo, so his departure won't be felt. Adding a late-round draft pick is merely a bonus for Sabres GM Darcy Regier.
