SENS JETTISON JOSEPH
The St. Louis Blues acquired winger Mathieu Joseph and a third-round draft pick in 2025 from the Ottawa Senators for future considerations.
What does it give the St. Louis Blues
The Blues did well to acquire speedy winger Joseph and a third-round pick for essentially no return. After trading away Kevin Hayes to Pittsburgh in a deal that also sent a second-round pick to the Penguins, this deal counters that one nicely.
What does it give the Ottawa Senators
The Senators are already forfeiting one of their next two first-round picks, and now ship out a second-rounder just so St. Louis can take Joseph's contract. This is bad asset management by Ottawa. Full-stop.
Fantasy impact
It is hard to see Joseph becoming a major fantasy contributor in St. Louis. His offensive game runs hot and cold, so he is not recommendable at this time.
