CAPITALS BRING IN BEAUVILLIER

The Washington Capitals acquired winger Anthony Beauvillier from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second-round draft pick in 2025.

What does it give the Washington Capitals
The Capitals know Beauvillier well, since he was in the Metropolitan division with Pittsburgh this season (and with the NY Islanders earlier in his NHL career). He adds scoring depth but is unlikely to carve out a big role in D.C.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Beauvillier was decent for the Penguins but was probably playing higher up in the lineup than he should have this season. The Pens are in full-blown retooling mode at the moment, so getting a second-rounder in 2025 is huge.

Fantasy impact
Current Beauvillier owners should be looking to sell or dump him after this trade. He is unlikely to play above the fourth line on a much deeper Capitals squad.
