AUBE-KUBEL FOR BRANNSTROM

The New York Rangers acquired winger Nicolas Aube-Kubel from the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Erik Brannstrom.

What does it give the New York Rangers
This is a deal of AHL players with plenty of NHL experience. Aube-Kubel is a rugged depth winger, so he could find his way to New York before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
Brannstrom is a decent puck-moving defenseman who is going to a team littered with similar defensemen (only better than him). He is a long shot to make an impact in Buffalo.
