SPRONG SENT TO NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Devils acquired winger Daniel Sprong from the Seattle Kraken for a seventh-round draft pick in 2026.

What does it give the New Jersey Devils
In Sprong, the Devils bring in a depth winger with some offensive upside. Sprong had been a very useful bottom-six scorer in recent seasons, but his play declined this year and he was demoted to the AHL. New Jersey will be his third organization this season. They might be considering giving him another look in the NHL soon, following this trade.

What does it give the Seattle Kraken
Seattle traded for Sprong earlier this season, in a deal for future considerations. He didn't end up fitting in with their lineup, so getting even a late draft pick is a decent return at this point.

Fantasy impact
For now, Sprong will start out in the AHL, keeping him off the fantasy radar. He could earn a look with the Devils at some point, but he would need to bounce back in a big way to be relevant in fantasy leagues.
