MARSHALL PLAN HITS SAN JOSE
The San Jose Sharks acquired defenseman Jason Marshall from the Minnesota Wild for a fifth-round draft pick in 2004.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
With three rookies seeing a lot of ice time at the NHL level this season, the Sharks needed more depth and experience for the playoff run. Therefore, Marshall should be a perfect fit, since he's used to serving a depth role. He can also play forward if needed, and is a valuable right-handed shot as well.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Since Marshall lost his job to Alex Henry earlier this season, the former was deemed expendable by Wild management. The fifth-round pick is good value for a depth player.
