PREDS ADD ZHOLTOK, BOMBARDIR

The Nashville Predators acquired center Sergei Zholtok and defenseman Brad Bombardir from the Minnesota Wild for a third-round draft pick in 2004 and fourth-round draft pick in 2004.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
Zholtok adds another scoring dimension for the Predators, who appear to be playoff bound for the first time in franchise history. He will probably slide into the second-line center spot behind David Legwand, and ahead of captain Greg Johnson, Rem Murray and Denis Arkhipov. Bombardir's stay-at-home presence will also be welcomed in Nashville, since the club lacked a true shutdown defender from the back end.

What does it give the Minnesota Wild
In moving Jason Marshall, Jim Dowd, Zholtok and Bombardir, the Wild have added an impressive array of draft picks and are well on their way to retooling the roster. Minnesota will now give extensive ice time to its youth for the rest of 2003-04.
