MELOCHE BACK TO PHILADELPHIA

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired right wing Eric Meloche from the Chicago Blackhawks for right wing Vaclav Pletka.

What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
In Meloche they acquire a player who has already spent some time in the Philadelphia system, and was added to boost the American League affiliate Philadelphia Phantoms roster. He'll be a secondary NHL call-up when the Flyers get into serious injury trouble and will rack up the PIM's whenever he does arrive.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks essentially get something for nothing, as Meloche did not fit into their NHL plans, whereas Pletko might. Like Meloche, Pletko is feisty, but the difference between the players is that Pletko has some offensive talent. That being said, he'll still be a depth player on the right wing for Chicago, and only a dream training camp would say otherwise.
