LESSARD FOR JANCEVSKI
The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired winger Junior Lessard from the Dallas Stars for defenseman Dan Jancevski.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
Lessard has yet to prove he can score consistently at the NHL level, but perhaps he'll get that opportunity in Tampa Bay--a team desperately looking for secondary scoring. This is a low-risk, potentially high-reward deal for the Bolts.
What does it give the Dallas Stars
The Stars originally drafted Jancevski, so they obviously like the journeyman defender. He'll provide more defensive depth within the Stars organization, but is more likely to spend the rest of 2007-08 with the AHL's Iowa Stars.
