CANUCKS ADD GOALTENDING DEPTH
The Vancouver Canucks acquired goaltender Drew MacIntyre from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional draft pick in 2007.
What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks are looking for cheap backup possibilities behind Roberto Luongo, so MacIntyre may see NHL time in 2006-07. He's also a good bet to see regular ice time with the AHL's Manitoba Moose.
What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
There was simply no room for MacIntyre in the Red Wings organization, so Detroit did well to provide him a better opportunity in Vancouver--and get something for him in the process.
