RILEY NASH TO CAROLINA
The Carolina Hurricanes acquired center Riley Nash from the Edmonton Oilers for a second-round draft pick in 2010.
What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes are taking a flyer on Nash, who has been reluctant to turn pro while with the Oilers organization. He's expected to play his senior year at Cornell University in 2010-11. He's a decent prospect who may be a better fit in Carolina.
What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers decided to stop waiting on Nash, as they were hoping he would have turned pro by now. Instead, they traded him for a second rounder and selected Slovakian defenseman Martin Marincin with the pick. He's a solid prospect at a position of need for Edmonton, so this move makes sense.
