HAGMAN TO DALLAS
The Dallas Stars acquired winger Niklas Hagman from the Florida Panthers for a seventh-round draft pick in 2007.
What does it give the Dallas Stars
The Stars have been very successful in incorporating Finnish talent into the lineup, so Hagman should feel right at home in Dallas. He'll play on the energy line, kill penalties and generally disrupt things whenever he's on the ice.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers are still merely tinkering with their roster, but a big blockbuster trade may be next on the horizon. Hagman had been on the block for a while, but GM Mike Keenan didn't get a lot in return. Hagman's departure secures Gregory Campbell's spot in the NHL.
