RIC JACKMAN TO ANAHEIM
The Anaheim Ducks acquired defenseman Ric Jackman from the Florida Panthers for a conditional draft pick in 2007.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
With injuries to both Chris Pronger and Francois Beauchemin currently hurting the Ducks, Jackman should provide a little short-term relief. Furthermore, he's a right-handed shot and a solid power-play quarterback, so he has a chance of playing on the third pairing even after Pronger and Beauchemin return. Jackman is a solid depth acquisition for the Ducks.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
Jackman has fallen out of favor everywhere he's been, and Florida was no different. He lost playing time to both Steve Montador and Joel Kwiatkowski this season, and never looked comfortable in Jacques Martin's defensive system in South Florida. Don't expect the Cats to get a lot in return for Jackman's services.
