The Nashville Predators acquired winger Wade Belak from the Florida Panthers for forward Nick Tarnasky.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
The Predators were seeking an enforcer since losing Darcy Hordichuk over the summer and were disappointed in Tarnasky since acquiring Tarnasky in late September. Belak won't play all the time but will provide the muscle Nashville was searching for.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
In Tarnasky, the Panthers acquired a player familiar with both the state of Florida and the Southeast Division--having spent most of his career in Tampa Bay. Tarnasky isn't the fighter Belak is but he should be able to see more ice time on the fourth line.
