COYOTES ADD GOALIE CHEVERIE

The Phoenix Coyotes acquired goaltender Marc Cheverie from the Florida Panthers for forward Justin Bernhardt.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
Phoenix is still looking for more depth in goal, following the off-season loss of former starter Ilya Bryzgalov. Cheverie has backup goalie potential, but he's no better than fifth on the team's current depth chart.

What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers didn't need Cheverie, as top prospect Jacob Markstrom is the future in goal in South Florida. Bernhardt is minor-league fodder who isn't even a lock to play in the AHL this season.
