FLYERS RE-ACQUIRE GAGNE

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired winger Simon Gagne from the Los Angeles Kings for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2013.

What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers decided to reunite with one of their former stars in Gagne, who was a frequent healthy scratch with the Kings. With Philadelphia, he will likely play more as long as he remains healthy. With {P Matt Read} out for the long term, Gagne should be a short-term fix on the wing. He could reemerge as an impact player, though unlikely in the latter stages of his career.

What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
The Kings are starting to look like the team that destroyed every team on their way to a Stanley Cup last spring, and that was with Gagne in the press box. He wasn't a fit for Darryl Sutter's Kings, so Los Angeles GM Dean Lombardi decided to part ways here. He didn't get a lot in return (the fourth rounder was originally acquired from Phoenix) but this gives other wingers more ice time.

Fantasy impact
Gagne is only 32 but he has endured a ton of injuries throughout his career, so he appears to be even older than he is. That said, he might have some sleeper appeal in fantasy leagues right now, as Philadelphia is a more offensive team than Los Angeles. Beware his propensity to get hurt, however.
