T.J. BRENNAN HEADS TO FLORIDA

The Florida Panthers acquired defenseman T.J. Brennan from the Buffalo Sabres for a fifth-round draft pick in 2014.

What does it give the Florida Panthers
Still relatively young at 23, Brennan is an offensive-type that’s still trying to find his niche in the big league. He has shared his time in both the NHL and the AHL thus far this season, and will be counted on to provide depth to the Cats’ blueline as some veterans continue to mend injuries.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
A draft pick is always a good investment, no matter how minor.

Fantasy impact
Brennan could be good for some fantasy points from the blueline if he does in fact ever find his niche at the NHL level. The decent-sized rearguard has posted interesting numbers with Rochester in the AHL, which includes this season’s 14 goals in 36 outings.
