DEVILS LAND D'AGOSTINI
The New Jersey Devils acquired forward Matt D'Agostini and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2015 from the St. Louis Blues for a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2015.
What does it give the New Jersey Devils
The Devils get a decent player who could wind up on their third line when they get 100 per-cent healthy. D'Agostini wasn't playing much in St. Louis, but he should be able to receive decent playing time in New Jersey. His versatility (he can play all three forward positions) should help him. Essentially, he replaces {P Bobby Butler}, who was waived and picked up by Nashville earlier this season.
What does it give the St. Louis Blues
The Blues were likely on the verge of waiving D'Agostini when all of their wounded forwards returned to the lineup. Therefore, they managed to get something in return for him, albeit a very minimal asset at this point. D'Agostini's fate was sealed when rookies {P Vladimir Tarasenko} and {P Jaden Schwartz} made the Blues out of training camp. He was a healthy scratch 13 times in 2013.
Fantasy impact
D'Agostini is a good shooter with streaky-good goal-scoring acumen, so he should receive a spike in fantasy value as long as he is in the Devils lineup. He becomes a late-season super sleeper.
