OIL ADD TOUGH GUY KESSY FOR RIEDER

The Edmonton Oilers acquired winger Kale Kessy from the Phoenix Coyotes for center Tobias Rieder.

What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
In Kessy, the Oilers land a legitimate WHL enforcer who should play in the AHL in 2013-14. He could eventually become a staple on their fourth line but must first turn pro and gain the necessary seasoning required for the role.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
German scoring forward Rieder has put up excellent numbers in the Ontario Hockey League and brings something the Coyotes need more of in their system: offensive creativity. He will likely play in the AHL in 2013-14.

Fantasy impact
This one is simple: Kessy will eventually add penalty minutes to any fantasy league team, while Rieder may produce fantasy points if he reaches the NHL. He's undersized, so he faces an uphill battle. However, Rieder clearly has more long-range fantasy appeal. Kessy, on the other hand, is a one-trick pony.
