The San Jose Sharks acquired defenseman Scott Hannan from the Nashville Predators for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2013.

What does it give the San Jose Sharks
Hannan is a defenseman who is familiar with the Sharks, since he began his playing career there. With {P Douglas Murray} gone to Pittsburgh, the Sharks needed a veteran stay-at-home presence along their blueline. Hannan will do just that for San Jose. And, he returns at a very low price.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
The Predators don't get much here, except the ability to continue to go younger along their blueline. Players such as {P Jonathon Blum}, {P Victor Bartley} and {P Ryan Ellis} should see an increase in ice time with Hannan's departure. This also may indicate that Nashville is selling this year.

Fantasy impact
Hannan is a low-scoring defensive defenseman who has moved from a low-scoring team to another low-scoring team. Therefore, there is nothing to see here.
