The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired goaltender Patrick Killeen from the Pittsburgh Penguins for future considerations.

What does it give the Columbus Blue Jackets
Killeen gives the Blue Jackets a little more depth at the goaltending position, given the {P Steve Mason} trade. He is strictly a depth move at this time. However, as is the case with most goaltenders, he may become a late bloomer.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins didn't have much use for Killeen and he was stuck behind several others on their goaltending depth chart. Therefore, they pretty much took anything from Columbus in order to give him an opportunity elsewhere.

Fantasy impact
Killeen is several years away from being anywhere close to making a fantasy impact, if he ever does.
