MONTREAL LANDS TOUGH GUY PARROS
The Montreal Canadiens acquired winger George Parros from the Florida Panthers for winger Philippe Lefebvre and a seventh-round draft pick in 2014.
What does it give the Montreal Canadiens
Now THIS makes a ton of sense. The Canadiens badly needed more size and toughness, so adding one of the top enforcers in the NHL is a great move. Parros is great in the dressing room and still a top fighter, but he can also play a regular role on the fourth line. He should make an impact in Montreal.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers have decided to part ways with Parros after just one year. Clearly, they didn't feel the need for an old-school tough guy any longer. They signed {P Joey Crabb} earlier in the day, and he is likely to fill a role as the fourth-line right-winger. In return, the Cats get a marginal prospect in Lefebvre and a late pick.
Fantasy impact
Parros holds very little fantasy value, except in those cultish leagues where fights are highlighted. Lefebvre doesn't own much keeper-league value and is a long shot to reach the NHL.
