JETS ACQUIRE WINGER SETOGUCHI
The Winnipeg Jets acquired winger Devin Setoguchi from the Minnesota Wild for a second-round draft pick in 2014.
What does it give the Winnipeg Jets
The Jets needed more offense and are hopeful Setoguchi will provide it. He's a streaky goal-scorer who can be feisty and quick up and down the wing when he's on his game, so he should be a nice fit on the Jets' second or third line. Winnipeg didn't surrender much here and didn't have to move anybody off their roster.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
The Wild didn't have any need for Setoguchi after the acquisition of {P Nino Niederreiter} from the Islanders. Therefore, they shipped him out for a solid future asset. The Wild have veteran {P Jason Pominville}, young {P Charlie Coyle} and Niederreiter to play right wing on their top three lines.
Fantasy impact
Setoguchi could see a spike in ice time in Winnipeg, which should spike up his fantasy value accordingly. He needs to find chemistry with his new center, which is likely to be either rookie {P Mark Scheifele} or veteran {P Olli Jokinen}. He's an intriguing sleeper heading into 2013-14.
