CARCILLO TO THE KINGS
The Los Angeles Kings acquired winger Daniel Carcillo from the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional draft pick in 2015.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
The Kings could bring out the best in Carcillo, a capable agitator who has battled injuries lately. He wasn't a perfect fit in Chicago, but with Los Angeles he fits in nicely on the fourth line with other instigator types such as {P Colin Fraser}, {P Jordan Nolan}, {P Kyle Clifford} et al. That said, Carcillo's arrival may make one of them expendable (possibly left-winger Clifford).
What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
Carcillo essentially lost out to the bigger, stronger {P Brandon Bollig}--who is more enforcer than agitator--with the Blackhawks. Therefore, GM Stan Bowman decided to move Carcillo out for a conditional pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, which is expected to be quite deep. That said, the pick probably won't be early. This move also opens up another roster spot at forward.
Fantasy impact
Carcillo's potential for offense goes down with the move from Chicago to LA, but his potential for greater playing time and penalty minutes is trending in the positive direction. Still, he's a very limited fantasy hockey option.
