DUCKS ADD SOME MUSCLE IN JACKMAN
The Anaheim Ducks acquired winger Tim Jackman from the Calgary Flames for a sixth-round draft pick in 2014.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks had a need for a fourth-line enforcer type, so adding Jackman makes sense at this time. He lost his job in Calgary to heavyweight enforcer {P Brian McGrattan} but is capable of playing more minutes. He's a solid addition for Anaheim.
What does it give the Calgary Flames
The Flames decided to part ways with Jackman partly because of McGrattan, but also to give {P Lance Bouma} more ice time. Bouma can kill penalties, which adds to his value. The Flames land a sixth rounder in this deal, so it's not a bad return here.
Fantasy impact
Jackman doesn't have much fantasy value, aside from an ability to rack up penalty minutes. That said, he isn't likely to play every night, so even his PIM numbers won't be good enough here.
