'HAWKS ADD MASHINTER FROM RANGERS

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired winger Brandon Mashinter from the New York Rangers for winger Kyle Beach.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks are currently missing {P Bryan Bickell}, and {P Brandon Bollig} is seeing more minutes lately. Defenseman {P Sheldon Brookbank} has seen time at right wing, so perhaps they'll need Mashinter for some short-term size up front. He's only 25 years old, so perhaps Chicago will get the most out of Mashinter.

What does it give the New York Rangers
Beach left North America earlier this season for the Swedish Elitserien (SHL), where he produced two goals and three points in seven games for HV 71. He returned to the AHL and since the start of November had been playing in Rockford (where he was on a recent hot streak, with four goals in two recent contests).

Fantasy impact
These two players are ideally fourth liners at the NHL level, but both could bring significant penalty minutes to any fantasy team if either plays regularly in the National Hockey League.
