ADAMS FOR ST. JACQUES

The Carolina Hurricanes acquired winger Craig Adams from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for defenseman Bruno St. Jacques.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes had Adams in the fold the last time NHL hockey was played, and will add a little more depth on the fourth line. He's also a decent penalty-killer but is probably better suited to the AHL game.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
St. Jacques hasn't panned out at the NHL level, but perhaps a trip to SoCal may do the trick. With Jason Marshall and Joe DiPenta currently occupying the No. 6 and 7 defenseman slots in Anaheim, St. Jacques could be recalled in the not-so-distant future. For now, he'll report to the AHL's Portland Pirates.
