O'DONNELL BACK TO L.A.
The Los Angeles Kings acquired defenseman Sean O'Donnell from the Anaheim Ducks for a conditional draft pick in 2009.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
O'Donnell, who turns 37 in a couple of weeks, returns to the Kings--where he toiled from 1995-2000. He adds much needed leadership and defensive presence to the youthful Kings. Look for O'Donnell to skate as a top-four rearguard in Los Angeles this season.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks still needed to shed more salary in wake of the recent signing of Teemu Selanne, so the club decided to move O'Donnell--who was Chris Pronger's regular partner in Anaheim. That job will now belong to one of Ken Klee, Steve Montador or Kent Huskins.
