DUCKS, PENS SWAP D-MEN

The Anaheim Ducks acquired defenseman Simon Despres from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Ben Lovejoy

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
This is a potential steal for the Ducks, as Despres is younger, bigger, more physical, more mobile and overall more talented than the departing Lovejoy. He can play either right or left defense and displays huge untapped upside. Don't be surprised if Despres blossoms in Orange County.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Lovejoy is a right-handed defenseman, and that is important since the Penguins earlier in the day traded {P Robert Bortuzzo} and was only left with {P Kris Letang} on the right side. Lovejoy is also familiar to the Pens' family, as he was originally a Penguin earlier in his career.

Fantasy impact
This could be the deal that Despres needed to fully hone his ability. He should be on high sleeper alert, as he's moving from one good team to another and could really thrive with the change of scenery.
