KAMPFER TO BOSTON

The Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Steven Kampfer from the Anaheim Ducks for a conditional fourth-round draft pick.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
Kampfer is a project for the Bruins. He's in his senior year at Michigan, so the B's now have to sign him before the August deadline to sign NCAA seniors.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks acquired a fourth rounder for a player they selected in the same round in 2007. They perhaps weren't going to sign Kampfer, and instead decided to take Boston's offer.
