SUTTON FOR FOSTER

The Edmonton Oilers acquired defenseman Andy Sutton from the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Kurtis Foster.

What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
This is a change-of-scenery deal, as both veteran blueliners were on the outs with their previous organization. Sutton is more of the stay-at-home type Edmonton needs, though he's more of a depth defenseman at this point in his career.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
Foster's a right defenseman, which is what Anaheim needed more. He can play on the power play, thanks to a big shot from the point, but he's suspect defensively. Like Sutton, Foster is more of a depth acquisition at this point.
