DUCKS ADD BIG WINGER McGINN
The Anaheim Ducks acquired winger Jamie McGinn from the Buffalo Sabres for a conditional third-round draft pick in 2016.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks added scoring depth earlier with the arrival of Brandon Pirri. Now, Anaheim lands more of a meat-and-potatoes winger in McGinn, who could replace rookie Nick Ritchie on the Rickard Rakell-Corey Perry line or work on the fourth line. He is versatile, but probably a rental.
What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres did well to get a solid pick in return for a pending unrestricted free agent in McGinn. They get a third rounder this season, or perhaps a second rounder in 2017 if the trade conditions are met. Either way, it's a good return for the rebuilding Sabres (and good for Anaheim, too).
Fantasy impact
The Ducks will probably use McGinn in a depth role, so his fantasy value (whatever it was before) remains the same in Anaheim. He is not going to be much of a factor.
