The Chicago Blackhawks acquired winger Craig Adams from the Carolina Hurricanes for a conditional draft pick in 2009.

Adams will eventually be reunited in Chicago with injured center Kevyn Adams. Together the "Adams Family", featuring a fourth line with both Kevyn and Craig Adams, was a very effective energy line and penalty-killing duo in Carolina. The Blackhawks are hopeful they can provide similar play in the Windy City.
What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
Adams' spot in the Hurricanes lineup will now likely go to former 'Hawks Sergei Samsonov, who has performed well for the 'Canes since being claimed off re-entry waivers. Therefore, Carolina will gladly take a late-round flyer for fourth liner Adams.
