BRUINS ADD CORVO

The Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Joe Corvo from the Carolina Hurricanes for a fourth-round draft pick in 2012.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
The Bruins needed to add another offensive rearguard, after seeing Tomas Kaberle sign with the Hurricanes. Therefore, they immediately called Carolina and acquired Corvo, who should see plenty of action on the Bruins power play.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
The 'Canes had too many similar defensemen after acquiring Tomas Kaberle as an unrestricted free agent, so they quickly made a decision to ship Corvo out. In return, they land a future asset in the fourth rounder. This move helps both clubs.
