STUART TO DETROIT
The Detroit Red Wings acquired defenseman Brad Stuart from the Los Angeles Kings for a second-round draft pick in 2008 and a fourth-round draft pick in 2009.
What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
For Detroit the key is depth and healthy talent. Stuart is a high-caliber
talent who just hasn't quite found consistency in the NHL yet. As the third
overall pick of the 1998 draft, he certainly has the goods to be a regular
for the Wings.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
More high-quality prospects, eventually. The Kings have done a superb job of
building with youth in recent years, and the draft picks will yield players
who will probably eventually become solid contributors for them.
