VANCOUVER ADDS BLOUIN

The Vancouver Canucks acquired left-winger Sylvain Blouin from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Rene Vydareny.

What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
Another tough guy, especially since Martin Grenier was sent packing to New York in the Martin Rucinsky deal. Blouin will probably spend the rest of the season in the AHL, unless the Canucks need him for a matchup in the playoffs--against Colorado, for example.

What does it give the Montreal Canadiens
An intriguing project. Vydareny is an offensive-minded defenseman with youth (22) and untapped potential on his side. Vydareny could be a sleeper for the Habs.
