SHARKS, DEVILS SWAP FOUR

The San Jose Sharks acquired winger Patrick Davis and center Michael Swift from the New Jersey Devils for forward Steven Zalewski and defenseman Jay Leach.

What does it give the San Jose Sharks
In a swap of minor leaguers, the Sharks get the player with the most upside in Davis. He's been stuck in the AHL for quite some time but is still only 24. This could be a big opportunity for him. Swift is diminutive, but at least he can produce offense in the minors.

What does it give the New Jersey Devils
Zalewski is a player cut in the Devils mold, since he's a forward with two-way upside. He's also pretty versatile. As for Leach, the veteran AHLer returns to the organization he left just two years ago when claimed off waivers by Montreal. He's a solid citizen and decent depth player.
