COYOTES GRAB KVASHA

The Phoenix Coyotes acquired center Oleg Kvasha from the New York Islanders for a third-round draft pick in 2006.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
A mammoth underachiever... literally and figuratively. The Coyotes continue to be obsessed with size, but they hope Kvasha can finally fulfill some of the lofty expectations hovering over him. He can play both center and left wing, which is nothing new to Phoenix--since several current forwards can play multiple positions. Essentially, Kvasha replaces Jamie Lundmark, who was moved to Calgary in a separate deal.

What does it give the New York Islanders
The Islanders got excellent value for Kvasha. The third-round draft pick in 2006 adds more to the future coffers, as the Isles have clearly begun to dismantle a club that had been spinning its wheels for quite some time.
