CHRIS SIMON TO MINNY
The Minnesota Wild acquired left winger Chris Simon from the New York Islanders for a sixth-round draft pick in 2008.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
With Simon now on board, the Wild have three legitimate tough
guys--along with Derek Boogaard and Todd Fedoruk. The fact Simon was
added could mean Boogaard's bad back isn't getting any better.
What does it give the New York Islanders
Simon needed to go, following a couple of forgettable on-ice incidents
the last two seasons. Getting a future asset for him is all Islanders
GM Garth Snow could have hoped for. The earlier addition of Rob Davison
rendered Simon obsolete.
