The Coyotes know Taffe very well, since they dealt him to New York earlier this season in the Jamie Lundmark trade. For now, Taffe will remain at the AHL level.

What does it give the New York Rangers
The Rangers soured quickly on Taffe, but hope Sonnenberg can be a nice fit with their AHL affiliate in Hartford. If injuries mount, Sonnenberg may be brought up to the big club.
