WHITE TO MINNY
The Minnesota Wild acquired center Todd White from the Ottawa Senators for a fourth-round draft pick in 2005.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
The Wild add a center who should fit in nicely with the club's youthful, speedy forwards. White should receive a better opportunity to play top-six forward minutes in Minny this season than had he stayed in his hometown of Kanata. His role figures to expand with the Wild.
What does it give the Ottawa Senators
With the pick acquired for White (95th overall), the Senators selected defensive center Cody Bass out of Mississauga (OHL). Bass is an agitating shift disturber with tremendous checking qualities and character. He's a few years away from joining the big club, and his offensive upside is limited. Still, he's a solid addition to Ottawa, since the team no longer had room for White on the roster.
