WEBB BACK ON LONG ISLAND
The New York Islanders acquired winger Steve Webb from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Alain Nasreddine.
What does it give the New York Islanders
The Islanders let Webb walk last summer but still valued his energy and combativeness. Therefore, he's back for the stretch drive. However, he'll probably be a reserve player this time around.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Webb never established himself in Pittsburgh, and was quickly dispatched to the AHL--following a brief trial with the big club. Nasreddine is merely NHL depth and AHL fodder for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
