MOORE NOW A WILD

The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Dominic Moore from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a third-round draft pick in 2007.

What does it give the Minnesota Wild
The Wild needed more center depth, since they're using Pavol Demitra on the wing these days. Moore is a solid defensive player, which is a must for any Minnesota acquisition. With Wes Walz centering the top line, Moore should take on a bigger checking role with the Wild. He'll also kill a lot of penalties for the Wild.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Unfortunately, Moore was no longer needed in Pittsburgh. The emergence of Jordan Staal and Maxime Talbot this season, plus recent pick-ups in wingers Gary Roberts and Georges Laraque, made Moore expendable. Adding a third rounder is good value for a Penguins team that dealt away a third rounder in order to acquire Moore last off-season.
