FILEWICH TO ST. LOUIS

The St. Louis Blues acquired winger Jonathan Filewich from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2010.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
Filewich essentially will replace the recently departed Nikolai Lemtyugov, who recently bolted the AHL's Peoria Rivermen for the KHL. Filewich has so far been a bust but a change of scenery could help.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins were hoping Filewich would have become a top-six winger for them by now. Instead, he was regressing in the depth chart and seeing fewer minutes with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL). Therefore, the Pens will take the conditional pick.
