OIL GETS MARQUARDT FOR WILD
The Edmonton Oilers acquired winger Matt Marquardt from the Boston Bruins for defenseman Cody Wild.
What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
In Marquardt the Oilers add a still-promising power forward who can help them continue their rebuilding project in that area. He may still be awhile away from making a splash in the NHL (and is currently in the AHL) but has good size and raw talent.
What does it give the Boston Bruins
Wild may be a little further on in his development than Marquardt and is a solid puck-mover type doing fairly well right now at the AHL level. He makes a nice depth add for the Bruins considering all their issues on the blueline this season.
